Optimizing Residential Energy Efficiency

Course Description: This course provides a foundation for understanding basic electricity and residential energy efficiency by analyzing energy usage in a typical residence and utility rates for electricity and natural gas. It provides a brief introduction to fundamental applications such as Photovoltaic (PV) cells and solar energy systems. This course also analyzes the energy usage of residential appliances such as refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and discusses temperature control, water conservation and Residential Energy Surveys.

Audience: Homeowners, energy analysts, HVAC professionals.
